GEORGE TOWN, September 5 — Penang has launched TASKA@Penang, a digital platform allowing parents to locate and verify registered childcare centres across the state.
State executive councillor Lim Siew Khim said the portal currently provides information on 153 TASKA registered with the Social Welfare Department.
Users can search nearby centres by location and radius, check registration status and operator details, and access directions through Google Maps.
The mobile-friendly platform currently covers four categories of childcare centres and will be continuously updated, with kindergarten information planned for future inclusion.
Penang is also offering fee discounts, selected penalty exemptions and technical flexibility to encourage more childcare centres, kindergartens and care centres to complete registration by Feb 28, 2027.
