BUTTERWORTH, September 6 — Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek will propose expanding the Kasih Madani home childminder training programme through Budget 2027.
To strengthen childcare safety and support working families. Fadhlina said formal training could improve childcare standards while giving childminders greater professional recognition.
More than 1,000 childminders in Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Kedah and Penang have benefited from the initiative since its launch last year. The programme provides childcare courses, professional workshops and community outreach.
Fadhlina said child protection should extend from home-based care into formal schooling, with families, childminders and educational institutions sharing responsibility for children’s safety.
