KUALA LUMPUR, September 7 — Government oversight of GLCs and GLICs must be strengthened to protect public funds, Malaysia Integrity and Anti-Corruption Organisation president Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Husin said.
The former MACC deputy commissioner called for merit-based board appointments, independent due diligence and stronger conflict-of-interest checks.
He said government representatives should actively challenge management, scrutinise major investments and identify risks.
Fauzi said ministries and agencies should detect governance weaknesses before they develop into serious problems requiring enforcement action.
