KUALA LUMPUR, September 16 — Former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin expressed relief after the High Court acquitted him of four charges linked to Bukhary Equity Sdn Bhd.
Judge Noor Ruwena Md Nurdin granted a full acquittal after prosecutors sought a discharge not amounting to an acquittal. Muhyiddin, who maintains his innocence.
Said he hoped to also be cleared of the remaining charges. He still faces three abuse-of-power charges involving RM25.3 million in alleged bribes for Bersatu linked to the Jana Wibawa programme.
Submissions on whether he must enter his defence are scheduled from Nov 26 to Dec 3.
