SEREMBAN, September 16 — Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim said a dispute over a purported proclamation concerning Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.
Should be resolved through constitutional and legal processes, including the courts if necessary. Ismail said the state executive council agreed the issue must be considered.
Under the Negeri Sembilan Constitution and principles of constitutional monarchy, rather than as a political or personal dispute.
He stressed that the menteri besar has no unilateral authority to determine the Ruler’s position, saying constitutional power must derive from the law.
