SEREMBAN, September 18 — Negeri Sembilan will not gazette or implement a disputed proclamation seeking to remove Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as Yang di-Pertuan Besar.
After accepting legal advice from the Attorney-General’s Chambers. The AGC said the Menteri Besar and state executive council have no unilateral authority to remove the Ruler or declare the position vacant.
It also considered the April 19 proclamation invalid because mandatory requirements under Article 10 of the state constitution had not been met.
The state secretary’s office subsequently confirmed it would take no action to gazette or implement the proclamation.
