KUALA LUMPUR, September 19 — DAP will remain in Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s unity government despite secretary-general Anthony Loke resigning as Transport Minister.

Over Najib Razak’s conditional pardon. Loke said other DAP ministers, deputy ministers and political appointees would remain in their positions following a three-hour Central Executive Committee meeting.

He said DAP was aware that some parties wanted it to withdraw completely, which could cost the government its majority and potentially force an early general election.

DAP said it respects the King’s constitutional pardoning power while maintaining its position on accountability over the 1MDB scandal.
