KUALA LUMPUR, September 24 — More than 5,600 players from across Malaysia took part in the inaugural Beyblade X Merdeka Cup 2026 at Sunway Wangsa Mall.
Held from Aug 29 to Sept 6, the tournament featured Under-12 and Elite divisions with a RM30,000 prize pool. Eight-year-old Aqif Nur Iman of Pahang won the Under-12 title.
While Tan Yi Xian, 24, from Kuala Lumpur claimed the Elite championship. Tourism Malaysia said the event showed potential for sports and family tourism.
With organisers aiming to develop Beyblade X through schools, community tournaments and future international competitions.
