KUALA LUMPUR, September 27 — Political analyst Ong Kian Ming has outlined a scenario in which Ahmad Zahid Hamidi could become Malaysia’s next prime minister if a BN-PN alliance wins GE16.
Ong said a Malay-Muslim unity narrative could help the two coalitions secure more than 112 parliamentary seats in Peninsular Malaysia. He said PAS could win more seats than BN.
But Zahid could potentially secure support from GPS and GRS for the premiership. Ong also forecast PH could fall to about 40 to 50 parliamentary seats and potentially lose Selangor.
