GEORGE TOWN, September 28 — Paya Terubong recorded the highest number of i-Sejahtera recipients among Penang’s 40 state constituencies from January to September 2026.
Assemblyman Wong Hon Wai said 13,905 residents received RM2.663 million in welfare payments during the nine-month period.
Recipients included 11,245 senior citizens, 1,399 housewives, 504 single mothers, 474 persons with disabilities and 105 families with newborns.
Statewide, Penang approved 298,694 i-Sejahtera payments worth RM57.204 million during the same period, covering assistance for different groups and bereavement aid.
