KOTA BHARU, September 28 — Perikatan Nasional’s negotiations with Barisan Nasional for cooperation in the Melaka state election are more than halfway complete, PN secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said.
Takiyuddin said the coalition’s suspension by the Registrar of Societies had not affected discussions with BN, although no final agreement had been reached.
He denied claims that PN had already been allocated seven seats, saying seat distribution remained under negotiation. RoS suspended PN’s activities from Sept 23 following a complaint by Bersatu.
But stressed that the action did not amount to deregistration. The Election Commission will meet on Oct 7 to determine key election dates.
