KUALA LUMPUR, September 28 — Tun Dr Hasmah Mohd Ali will receive a state funeral and be laid to rest at the National Mausoleum in Putrajaya following her death at age 100.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim directed senior government and Armed Forces officials to assist with funeral arrangements.
Funeral prayers will be held at Masjid As-Syarif in Seri Kembangan before her remains are taken to Putrajaya for burial beside the late Tun Endon Mahmood.
Royalty, government leaders and political figures gathered to pay their final respects to Hasmah, remembering the pioneering doctor for her decades of service to public health, particularly maternal and child healthcare.
