KEPALA BATAS, October 1 — Strong winds and heavy rain caused a lobby awning at Sunshine supermarket in Bertam Perdana to collapse on Wednesday afternoon, damaging three parked motorcycles.
The Penang Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 1.37pm and arrived at Sunshine on Jalan Dagangan 2 about 12 minutes later.
No injuries were reported, and the motorcycle owners were not at the scene when the structure fell. Firefighters closed the affected area and ensured it was safe before handing the site over to Sunshine Mall management for further action.
