SEREMBAN, October 5 — The Dewan Keadilan dan Undang Negeri Sembilan (DKU) has reaffirmed that Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir remains the state’s lawful Yang di-Pertuan Besar.
In an official statement, the council rejected documents seeking his removal, saying mandatory requirements under Article 10 of the Negeri Sembilan Constitution 1959 were not fulfilled.
DKU said its records showed no “full and complete enquiry” concerning Tuanku Muhriz was conducted, while he was neither notified of such an investigation nor given an opportunity to respond.
It also said only one person who signed the April 19 document was then a lawful Undang, while Article 29 requires at least three Undangs to exercise the relevant power.
The council said a subsequent proclamation signed on Aug 3 could not revive the earlier process. DKU also rejected the concept of a collective ruler.
Maintaining that Negeri Sembilan has one Yang di-Pertuan Besar who takes precedence over all others.
