GEORGE TOWN, October 15 — A 21-year-old female Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) student was found dead outside a university hostel along Jalan Bukit Gambir in Gelugor on Thursday morning.
Police said the student was discovered lying on a concrete surface by a university cleaner at approximately 7.25am and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations found injuries consistent with a fall from a height, with no evidence of criminal involvement detected.
The body was sent to Penang Hospital for a post-mortem examination, while police opened a sudden death investigation to determine the circumstances.
