GEORGE TOWN, October 16 — About 600 water accounts in Bayan Baru and Jalan Tengah will be affected by a scheduled water supply disruption from 10pm Friday until 6.30am Saturday.
Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) said the eight-and-a-half-hour disruption is necessary for 300mm pipeline connection and diversion works in the Southwest District.
Affected locations include Pantai Hospital, Bayan Baru Health Clinic, Bayan Baru Police Station, Jalan Tengah Fire Station, SMK Raja Tun Uda, SK Seri Permai, Medan Mahsuri and surrounding residential and commercial areas.
Consumers may experience temporary water interruptions, low pressure or discoloured water and are advised to store sufficient water.
