KUALA LUMPUR, October 22 — The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry is strengthening efforts to address domestic violence through prevention, protection, intervention and rehabilitation.

Deputy Minister Lim Hui Ying said the approaches aim to protect victims and help survivors rebuild their lives.

Victims can obtain Emergency Protection Orders through the Social Welfare Department without filing a police report, while interim and longer-term protection orders require court approval.

Lim urged families and neighbours to report suspected abuse, stressing that domestic violence is a crime, with assistance available through the 24-hour Talian Kasih hotline at 15999.
