GEORGE TOWN, October 30 — Penang’s Silicon Island development has reached 39.4% completion for its first-phase reclamation works, covering a planned 1,270 acres.
According to the state’s 2027 budget presentation. The state announced an additional 500 acres of reclamation beginning in October 2026.
The project also includes 64.85 acres of land for the Mutiara Line LRT depot and a proposed 700-acre Green Tech Park expected to begin operations in 2028.
As of September 30, the development had generated RM1.92 billion through 4,531 contracts.
