GEORGE TOWN, November 1 — ELEMEN, a 7,700-square-foot immersive art exhibition, has opened at The Waterfront Shoppes in Penang, featuring 15 interactive zones inspired by five elements.

Developed by Malaysian creative studio D Project, the exhibition combines artificial intelligence, lighting, sound and motion-responsive technology.

Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai said the attraction highlights local creativity and strengthens the state’s tourism offerings.

Visitors can explore interactive installations inspired by Bajau diving traditions, golden paddy fields, fireflies and Malaysian cultural heritage.

The exhibition also features an AI-powered Magic Mirror, interactive musical installations and a personalised elemental discovery experience.

Visitors can influence digital projections, lighting effects and soundscapes through movements, gestures and touch.

The exhibition was developed over six months by a local creative team using sensors, infrared technology and interactive digital systems.

A stamp-collecting activity allows visitors to explore different exhibition zones and create personalised souvenirs.

Exclusive collectibles, including themed mascot keychains and mystery boxes, are also available for visitors.

Organisers aim to attract more than 20,000 visitors, offering an indoor attraction for families, tourists and digital art enthusiasts.

Open daily from 10am to 10pm until February 14, 2027, tickets cost RM48 for adults, RM38 per person for groups and RM28 for eligible concessions, with free admission for qualifying children.

Visitors can purchase tickets online or at the exhibition counter, with the same admission rates applying to Malaysian and international visitors.
