BUKIT MERTAJAM, November 7 — Heavy rain triggered flooding across Seberang Perai Tengah on Saturday, while fallen trees damaged two vehicles in separate incidents.
Authorities identified Seberang Jaya, Permatang Rawa, Tanah Liat, Mengkuang Titi and Jalan Baru among the affected areas.
The Penang Fire and Rescue Department reported that a fallen tree crushed a Proton Saga taxi in Perai, damaging part of a nearby shop roof.
Another tree damaged a Perodua Bezza and part of a house in Mengkuang Titi. No casualties were reported, while firefighters conducted clearing operations at both locations.
Authorities said the flooding remained under control, although several homes were affected and drainage problems were reported in Seberang Jaya.
