BUKIT MERTAJAM, September 25 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim returned to his family home in Cheruk Tok Kun on Friday to pay his final respects to his elder brother, Idrus Ibrahim.
Anwar arrived with his wife, Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and was seen reciting Surah Yasin beside his brother’s remains. Idrus, 83, died in his sleep at his Cheruk Tok Kun home at 6.10pm Thursday.
The former teacher and headmaster leaves behind his wife, four children and 10 grandchildren and will be buried at the Cheruk Tok Kun Bawah Muslim Cemetery after Friday prayers.
