KEPALA BATAS, September 27 — A new book documenting the traditions and community life of Kampung Kota Aur was launched Saturday as part of efforts to preserve Penang’s living heritage.
“Long Pah: The Living Heritage of Kota Aur” was produced by researchers from UiTM Penang and centres on the experiences and cultural legacy of Latifah Abdullah, known as Long Pah.
State tourism executive councillor Wong Hon Wai said such documentation could support education, research and cultural tourism while preserving traditions for future generations.
Penang has designated 57 sites, foods and cultural practices as state heritage, with additional heritage listings scheduled to be announced on Oct 10.
