KOTA KINABALU, September 29 — Sabah PKR rejected comparisons between Penang’s RM21 billion transport projects and a single year of Sabah road funding.
Saying the figures cover different types and periods of infrastructure spending. State information chief Ahmad Farid Sainuri said Penang’s total includes the RM16.8 billion LRT, airport, port and cruise terminal projects implemented over several years.
He said Sabah also has major federal projects, including the Pan Borneo Highway and airport upgrades, while acknowledging the state’s roads still require serious attention.
Ahmad Farid said development should reflect each state’s needs while greater attention remains necessary to narrow Sabah’s infrastructure gap.
