TOKYO, October 4 — Tourism Malaysia is stepping up promotions in Japan through Tourism Expo Japan 2026, showcasing Malaysian destinations, culture, food and tourism experiences.
The programme includes a cooperation agreement with JTB Corporation, the launch of education tourism initiative Edu+ 2.0 and a new Malaysia-focused gourmet book.
Malaysia welcomed 200,579 Japanese visitors in the first half of 2026, up 7.2% year-on-year. Air connectivity currently stands at 78 weekly flights.
While Malaysia Airlines launched direct Fukuoka-Kuala Lumpur services this month. ZIPAIR is scheduled to begin daily Narita-Kuala Lumpur flights on Oct 20, further expanding travel options between both countries.
