KUALA LUMPUR, October 1  — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim urged Malaysian professionals to move beyond narrow specialisation and combine their expertise to help advance the country.

Speaking at PROFEX 2026, Anwar said technical knowledge alone was insufficient, particularly as Malaysia faces rapid technological and economic changes.

He called on professionals from different disciplines, communities and regions to collaborate while respecting cultural and religious differences.

Anwar also said professional responsibility extended beyond technical work, urging professionals to challenge corruption, dishonesty and abuse while strengthening governance.

He said Malaysia’s progress required unity and a shared commitment to what is right, just and fair.
