JOHOR BAHRU, October 3 — Passenger services on the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System Link are now targeted to begin in February 2027, authorities from both countries said.
RTS Operations informed Malaysia’s Transport Ministry and Singapore’s Land Transport Authority of the revised timeline. Infrastructure works on both sides are substantially complete.
But additional time is required for final testing, trial runs and regulatory processes. RTSO expects to complete system tests and trials by Dec 31.
Service commencement remains subject to independent safety certification and final regulatory approvals from Malaysian and Singaporean authorities.
