KUALA LUMPUR, October 8 — Schools in Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya will close on Oct 9 due to worsening haze, with only Rompin district affected in Pahang.
The Education Ministry said institutions in areas recording Air Pollutant Index (API) readings above 180 must close from Friday.
Schools experiencing API readings above 150 for three consecutive days must also close from Oct 12. Affected schools must conduct home-based learning.
While teachers and support staff may work from home, with schools elsewhere operating according to their normal schedules.
