GEORGE TOWN, October 9 — A Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) power disruption forced the Sungai Dua Water Treatment Plant to shut down at 11.45pm Thursday, affecting water supply operations across parts of Penang.
Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) said electricity was restored around midnight, allowing treatment and pumping operations to restart gradually.
Several pumping stations, including Bukit Dumbar and Bukit Gedong, were affected, with consumers warned of low water pressure or temporary interruptions.
PBAPP is conducting de-airing works at five locations, including Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Jalan Yeap Chor Ee, Sungai Nibong, Macallum and Jalan Bukit Gambir.
