KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 – 1MDB’s Arul Kanda and Petaling Jaya Utara Member of Parliament Tony Pua seem set for a face-off on live television. Meanwhile, Tony Pua had also issued that the challenge in his blog for a “live talkshow” where he asks the questions, and Arul Kanda accepted. However, Arul Kanda, the 1Malaysia Development Berhad President and Group Executive Director, laid down a condition.

Arul Kanda said that Tony Pua must first resign from the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee which is investigating 1MDB. He said to maintain the integrity of PAC’s investigation and to avoid any conflict of interest, Tony must first resign from the PAC. He said this in a statement on Thursday.

In other hand, Tony Pua on his website, tonypua.blogspot.my also noted that the 1MDB boss, when interviewed in the programme “Bernama TV with Arul Kanda”, had asserted that there is absolutely no cover up in relation to 1MDB. The programme was aired yesterday at 10 pm on Astro 502, HyppTV 410 and www.bernama.com. Tony alleged that Arul Kanda essentially recycled answers which had been discredited.

“Despite his efforts to do so, Tony cannot be judge jury and executioner. As such, I trust he will have the courage to do the right thing and resign from the PAC in order for us to have, in his words, a ‘no holds barred’ discussion on live television,” responded by Arul Kanda.
