KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 – Proton cars sold and registered from May 16-31 this year will include service vouchers equivalent in value to the difference between the current and new price of the car after Goods and Services Tax (GST) is zero-rated.
In a statement, Proton Holdings Bhd said this was done to offer its customers an interim pricing scheme to ensure everybody benefits from the change. “Proton is supportive of the government´s efforts to reduce the cost of living for the people.
“Despite zero-rated GST only coming into effect on June 1, we have decided to reward our customers immediately as a token of gratitude for their support and in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, ” it added. — Bernama
