Georgetown, August 9 – Penang Youth Development Corporation’s (PYDC) is giving an opportunity for the youth who are active or want to venture into the show business industry. PYDC wishes that this talent show will feature extraordinary acts so, we urge the young people with any talents to register and showcase your uniqueness. This show will not limit only to singing or dancing, if you are a magician, a stand-up comedian, a storyteller, or any talents that you have, we warmly welcome you to join us.
During the press conference, YB Soon Lip Chee, the Penang EXCO for youth and sports expresses that the Penang state government is willing to oblige and help our young talents in Penang. Knowing the widespread of covid-19 virus and implementation of Movement Control Order will destroy dreams of many, in collaborating with PYDC and DVOL Dance Studio, we want this platform to be a ray of hope for many.
Dr. Gwee Sai Ling, the General Manager of Penang Youth Development Corporation added on saying, “PYDC is an organization that cares for the wellbeing of our youth, so we provide different platforms aligning to the interest of our youth. The entertainment industry in Penang is slowly dying due to the current situation, therefore, PYDC stands in the gap to try and bring back hope for the young who wants to venture into this industry.”
This talent show will be focusing on youth aged between 15 to 35 years and those who are currently residing in Penang. PYDC wants to encourage artistic performances and positive energy during the time of pandemic. As you take part in performing arts, you will find your interest and enhance your talents, perhaps even be an asset in the performing arts industry. Participants must follow the set of criteria that was determined by the organizers. The list of criteria that are outlined can be referred to Appendix (1). Apart from the main criteria, participants show give special attention to these as well:
- Participants have to register their legitimate information/details in the google form.
- Email the video by the format of MP4 or VOD to [email protected]
- Participants can send in their submissions starting from the day of launching till the end of submission date.
- The videos must be posted onto their own Facebook account and tag PYDC official Facebook page which is pydc.myand #PYDCtalentshow2021
The competition will take place tentatively as follows:

Out of all the submissions, only top 15 videos will be chosen. Announcement of top 15 will be made on September 2021. There will also be an award ceremony where these top 15 will have to perform live physically/virtually. (Depending on the current situation. Lucrative prizes await the winners of this competition. The top 15 of the competition will receive cash prizes and items per below:
