GEORGE TOWN, September 21 – The Train-the-Trainer session under Penang Youth Resilience Superstars organised by Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang and Penang Youth Development Corporation has completed last Saturday to build capacity by training competent trainers to conduct Penang Youth Resilience Superstars in the future sessions so that more youth will benefit from the programme.

The programme was held on 11th and 18th September 2021 and the modules of Train-the-Trainer were conducted by Dato’ Dr Lai Fong Hwa, a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, Family Therapist and, Datin Indranee Liew, an IGCSE & UK Curriculum Consultant, Behaviour Management Trainer and Consultant, and Mental Health Advocate.  “Thank you very much for giving us a wonderful opportunity, and thank you once again PYDC  for organizing this. And thank you Dato and Datin for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. And I am glad I have met all of you through virtual, I have gained so much and feel blessed to have attended this training myself!”, said Kirrthana Kumar.

“All these activities are very related to the teenagers and it is giving more opportunities for them to learn about themselves and also to explore what is their strength. It is very practical.”, said Pau Kee.  “With this program, we have a bunch of people who have the same direction and I would say the same love towards the youth is very motivating. It would keep me energized to give what I can give.”, said Kok Ban.

The participants will be assigned to conduct future upcoming sessions of Penang Youth Resilience Superstars under the supervision of the master trainers, Dato Dr. Lai, and Datin Indranee.  Moreover, there are 5 more slots left open for Cohort 2 of Penang Youth Resilience Superstars which are open for youth aged 15 to 35.
