KUALA LUMPUR, November 23 – After losing in the 15th General Election (GE15), the Chairman of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang), Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will focus on writing about history and activities in the country. He, who failed to defend the Langkawi parliamentary seat, said that many events that happened in the country have not been recorded, including during the British era.
“I am also open to being interviewed by the writer,” he said on Facebook on Wednesday. In GE15, Dr Mahathir was among the 369 candidates for parliamentary seats who lost their deposit money after obtaining less than one-eighth of the total number of votes. He who is also the Chairman of the Sponsor of the Fatherland Movement (GTA) only obtained 4,566 votes out of a total of 48,123 votes in the five-way competition.
In addition, his son, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and GTA Deputy Chairman, Datuk Marzuki Yahya also failed to seize the Jerlun and Sungai Petani seats. All Pejuang’s plans for the country had to be dropped. What Pejuang can do is to see the direction of the government of the winning party,” he explained.
