PUTRAJAYA, November 29 – Any procurement approval without a tender can no longer happen, stressed the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Anwar said that the Unity Government that he leads will not allow leaks, leakages and corruption to continue to be rampant. Questions of regulations, procurement, approvals without tenders are all no longer possible,” he said in a speech in front of 340 civil servants in conjunction with the Prime Minister’s Department Citizens’ Meeting, here on Tuesday.

So for this initial stage, I would like to call on you to join together in this team to save our country,” he said. Sharing his experience during his tenure as Minister of Finance once upon a time, he insisted on issuing orders prohibiting not allowing his family members or close friends to gain interest in government-related projects.
My friends know that when I was Minister of Finance, my first order was to completely prohibit family or close people from being given an interest in any government project approval,” he said.
