KULIM, August 29 – AT&S Malaysia marked a significant milestone by hosting the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, along with MIDA CEO Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, at their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Kulim Hi-Tech Park. This visit highlighted Malaysia’s growing role in the microelectronics sector, with the first high-end IC substrate plant in the country now gearing towards high-volume production.
MITI Minister Tengku Zafrul praised the facility, emphasizing the positive economic impact and technological advancements that AT&S brings to Malaysia, positioning the country as a potential “Silicon Valley of Microelectronics in the East.” The event underscored AT&S’s commitment to driving local talent development and enhancing the competitiveness of Malaysia’s E&E sector, with over 3,000 high-skilled jobs expected from Phase 1 of the project.
