KUALA LUMPUR, January 29 — TP-Link Malaysia, in collaboration with Universiti Malaya (UM), has launched the country’s first AI-powered Wi-Fi 7 network at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT). This landmark initiative makes UM the first public university in Malaysia to deploy the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology, offering ultra-fast speeds, improved security, and seamless connectivity, setting a new standard for digital learning and research on campus.

The AI-driven network will intelligently adapt to user demands, providing students, faculty, and researchers with fast, reliable, and secure internet access. The system will also automatically detect and respond to security threats, streamlining network management through a centralized dashboard. TP-Link will equip key areas such as Lecture Halls 1 and 2, and the Networking teaching lab, supporting over 750 users, enhancing both teaching and learning experiences.

Hugo Cai, Regional Director of TP-Link Malaysia, expressed excitement over the partnership, emphasizing the importance of exploring advanced technologies like Wi-Fi 7 to drive innovation in education. This three-year collaboration, with equipment and support valued at RM300,000, marks a significant step in UM’s digital transformation efforts, with plans to extend the technology across other areas of the campus.
