SELAYANG, November 4 – Selayang residents are voicing their strong support for the inclusion of the area in the MRT3 line as traffic congestion and pollution continue to impact daily life. Developer 168 Park Selayang, leading the advocacy efforts, recently conducted a survey with 275 local respondents, revealing unanimous support for the MRT extension. With over 73% of Selayang’s 363,289 residents being working adults who commute to Kuala Lumpur and beyond, reliable public transport is seen as essential to reducing congestion, improving accessibility, and enhancing quality of life.

Key findings from the survey highlighted that 60% of residents would use the MRT daily, with 55% citing easier commuting as their primary motivation for backing the MRT3 line. Lorenz Tong, Development Director of 168 Park Selayang, emphasized the urgency for action, stating that a dedicated MRT station would “significantly enhance the quality of life for everyone in Selayang.” The developer is actively working with local authorities to make Selayang’s MRT3 inclusion a priority, presenting survey data to the Ministry of Transport and other agencies to support the case for expanded public transportation options in the region.
