KUALA LUMPUR, November 11 – Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company has announced strong financial performance for the first three quarters of 2024, reporting a 32% year-over-year (YoY) growth in air transport revenue, reaching VND51.7 trillion (RM8.88 billion), and a significant rise in after-tax profit. With a fleet of 85 aircraft and 155 routes—including 112 international routes—the airline continues expanding to meet increasing travel demands across Southeast Asia and beyond.
Vietjet also celebrated a major milestone, transporting its 200 millionth passenger in Q3 2024, underscoring its commitment to connecting Vietnam globally and fostering tourism and trade. The airline recently added new services from Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chi Minh City and will soon launch a direct route to Hanoi, further enhancing connections from Malaysia to Vietnam.
In a major move toward sustainable aviation, Vietjet signed a US$7.4 billion (RM32.3 billion) contract with Airbus for 20 A330neo aircraft, known for their fuel efficiency. The airline is also investing in sustainable aviation fuel and green technology, with plans to expand its fleet and operations for the peak holiday season, reinforcing its mission to provide affordable, eco-friendly travel solutions.
