KUALA LUMPUR, November 19 — The annual IMMERSIO festival returns to Kuala Lumpur from November 22 to December 22, presenting “Maya,” a new media art showcase centered on the theme of “illusion” or “magic.” Led by the Filamen collective, IMMERSIO 2024 brings together new media artists from Southeast Asia, creating an immersive experience that combines technology and cultural storytelling at GMBB in Bukit Bintang.
This year’s edition features innovative artists and collectives from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, and the Philippines, and includes a dedicated exhibition space for emerging student artists. With support from KreatifKL and Think City, “Maya” promises a unique exploration of Southeast Asia’s cultural heritage through the lens of technology, inviting visitors to experience an evolving landscape of contemporary art.
