KUALA LUMPUR, November 24 – ZTE Malaysia and Multimedia University (MMU) have successfully concluded the inaugural ‘ACE: Navigating the Digital Frontier for Smart Government’ programme, with 15 government officers graduating in a ceremony held in Beijing. Designed to bolster Malaysia’s digital transformation, the six-month programme equipped participants from various ministries with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and digital governance—key pillars for advancing Malaysia’s digital future.

With Malaysia already achieving over 80% 5G population coverage and preparing to launch its second 5G network, the ACE programme addresses the urgent need for digital leadership within the public sector. Steven Ge, Managing Director of ZTE Malaysia, emphasized the initiative’s significance in enabling public sector innovation, stating, “This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to not only infrastructure but also human capital, ensuring Malaysia builds a future-ready digital ecosystem.”

Participants gained hands-on experience through workshops, case studies, and site visits to leading tech companies in China, bridging academic knowledge with real-world applications. Professor Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, highlighted the programme’s impact on empowering participants to lead in digital governance. Graduates such as Dr. Muhammad Hakimi bin Mohd Hussain and Nuraizah Mohd Zam praised the initiative for deepening their understanding of AI-driven solutions in public service, reaffirming the government’s vision of transforming Malaysia into a leader in Southeast Asia’s digital economy.
