KUALA LUMPUR, December 1 — IMMERSIO 2024 has officially launched at GMBB, bringing together over 50 digital artworks and installations by 32 artists and collectives from across Southeast Asia. Running until December 22, this new media art festival invites audiences to explore the theme “Maya,” blending cultural heritage with cutting-edge technology to reimagine tradition and identity through immersive storytelling.
Curated into three sections — the Maya Exhibition, Malaysia and Southeast Asia Collectives, and iNYALA — IMMERSIO 2024 celebrates regional talent. Highlights include contributions from collectives such as Kapallorek (Malaysia), GengRambutan (Indonesia), and 084Visual (Vietnam), alongside fresh perspectives from student artists. With support from Filamen, GMBB, and other partners, the festival serves as a platform for innovation and collaboration within the creative arts.
“IMMERSIO 2024 is about breaking boundaries and fostering a sense of community,” said Abdul Shakir, Co-organiser and Co-founder of Filamen. Visitors can experience the festival daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM (closed on Mondays), with tickets starting at RM20.
