KUALA LUMPUR, December 2 – Betamek Berhad, a leading ODM and EMS provider for the automotive industry, has been awarded a government grant of RM396,420 from the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (MECD). This funding, administered by Malaysia Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF), supports Betamek’s ambitious digital transformation project aimed at integrating IoT technology to enhance manufacturing efficiency and competitiveness in the automotive sector.
The 12-month project will leverage IoT-enabled solutions to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), streamline data analytics from Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines, and optimise capacity to meet growing electric vehicle (EV) demand. Executive Director Muhammad Fauzi Bin Abd Ghani highlighted the grant’s significance in advancing Betamek’s commitment to innovation, productivity, and sustainability, aligning with its ESG goals and positioning the company as a regional leader in digital manufacturing solutions.
