KUALA LUMPUR, December 23 – FedEx Malaysia, in partnership with Treat Every Environment Special (TrEES), has expanded its community vegetable garden initiative to address food insecurity among underserved urban populations. Now in its second year, the program produces fresh vegetables for approximately 700 meals each month, benefiting welfare homes like Pusat Jagaan Ros Biru in Klang. This initiative has not only reduced grocery expenses for beneficiaries by 20% but also improved nutrition and provided much-needed relief to vulnerable groups.

“With our purpose to connect people and possibilities, we aim to create meaningful change,” said Tien Long Woon, managing director of FedEx Malaysia. TrEES director Leela Panikkar emphasized the partnership’s impact, saying, “Together, we’ve expanded our reach and delivered fresh vegetables to those in need, fostering stronger, more sustainable communities.” Looking ahead, TrEES plans to transform the garden into a sustainable agriculture training hub, empowering participants with skills while ensuring the program’s long-term viability.
