KUALA LUMPUR, December 23 – Malaysia Airlines is expanding its services to meet the increased demand during the upcoming festive season, with 112 additional red-eye flights between Kuala Lumpur and East Malaysia from December 19 to January 1, 2025. The airline will operate up to 596 flights during this period, with extra services to and from Sabah (Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, and Tawau) and Sarawak (Kuching and Miri).
This move is aimed at providing more flexibility and convenience for travellers heading home for the holidays. In addition, Malaysia Airlines is offering fixed fares for the Chinese New Year period, starting at RM 349 for one-way travel to and from East Malaysia. These fares are exclusively available on the airline’s official website and mobile app.
The airline will also introduce additional red-eye flights between January 24 and February 4, 2025, further enhancing accessibility for passengers. To support regional travel, Malaysia Airlines will add a seventh daily flight to Jakarta starting January 28, 2025, providing greater convenience for both business and leisure travellers.
