KUALA LUMPUR, December 25 — TotalEnergies Malaysia, in collaboration with Arus Academy, continues its mission to enhance road safety through the VIA Safe Mobility program. This year, a team of Primary 6 students from SJK(C) Kwang Hwa, Sungai Nibong, Penang, emerged as national and regional champions with their innovative solutions to tackle road safety issues.
Winning a EUR 5,000 grant, the students proposed creative measures, including an automatic barrier gate system and prominent signage to manage traffic flow and improve pedestrian safety around their school. With strong support from their teachers, local representatives, and the Penang Island City Council, the team turned their vision into actionable plans to address traffic congestion and enhance awareness for road users.
This accomplishment underscores the program’s success in empowering Malaysian youth to advocate for safer communities. Jennifer Li, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Malaysia, emphasized, “Creating safer roads begins with youth education and empowerment. Together, we hope to build a future where our roads are safer for everyone.”
