GEORGE TOWN, December 28 — A 33-year-old local man has been arrested for allegedly vandalizing a vehicle in a dramatic incident on Penang Road yesterday. According to police, the suspect was apprehended near Jalan Padang Tembak, Ayer Itam, shortly after a woman lodged a report stating that a motorcyclist had smashed her car’s windshield with a metal chain while she was driving past a pharmacy. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
The suspect, identified as a factory worker with two prior criminal records, was detained along with several items believed to have been used in the crime, including a metal chain, helmet, and t-shirt. Investigators are probing the case under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief. The suspect has been remanded for three days to facilitate further investigation.
