KUALA LUMPUR, December 28 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with former Thai Prime Minister Dr. Thaksin Shinawatra to discuss critical regional issues and strengthen Malaysia-Thailand relations. The meeting centered on Thaksin’s role as an unofficial adviser to the ASEAN Chair and covered topics such as boosting the regional economy, advancing new technologies, fostering peace in Southern Thailand, and addressing the Myanmar crisis.

Anwar emphasized Thaksin’s extensive expertise and regional networks, which could unlock significant opportunities for Malaysia and ASEAN in tackling these challenges effectively.
