KUALA LUMPUR, December 31 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced immediate initiatives to enhance Langkawi’s tourism sector while ensuring its rich biodiversity is preserved. The measures aim to stimulate growth and provide long-term benefits to the local community.
Anwar revealed plans for the establishment of a university branch on the island during a meeting with the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) CEO, the district officer, and the Langkawi district police chief. The initiatives are part of the government’s commitment to balancing development and environmental sustainability on the iconic island.
