KEDAH, January 1 — MUDA Kedah has successfully concluded two MariBantu missions in collaboration with MUDA Penang and local NGOs, providing vital aid to flood-affected communities in Kampung Lama, Kubang Pasu, and Kampung Titi Gajah, Anak Bukit. The first mission, conducted on December 15, delivered food baskets and school supplies to 50 families in Kubang Pasu, while the second mission on December 28 focused on distributing essentials like mats, stoves, and pillows to 40 families in Titi Gajah.
Despite these efforts, MUDA Kedah expressed concern over the inadequacy of aid received by many families, urging elected representatives and the state government to take more proactive measures. “These communities cannot rely solely on external initiatives; they need immediate and comprehensive support, including home furniture, essential goods, and sustainable flood mitigation plans,” the statement read. MUDA Kedah remains committed to assisting those in need while calling on authorities and society to step up efforts to address recurring flood crises effectively.
