PUTRAJAYA, January 10 – The Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) has completed its investigation into the handling of a complaint by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Kajang Branch regarding the sale of counterfeit Mannol lubricating oil.
The investigation was prompted by a complaint filed under Section 27(4) of the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission Act 2009 (Act 700). The investigation revealed that the KPDN Kajang Branch failed to adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) outlined in the Guideline for Handling Counterfeit Trademark Complaints, resulting in the improper handling of the complaint.
As a result, the case was not investigated thoroughly. EAIC has referred the disciplinary action recommendations for the involved officers to the Ministry’s Disciplinary Authority for further action.
